The vision of 1000 Satellites is to “enable a workplace that complies with workplace guidelines (ASR for short) within 15 minutes’ reach”. In addition to saving time, this also saves CO₂, which means that everyone makes a further contribution to environmental protection. Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner (Lord Mayor of the City of Heidelberg) considers the 15-minute radius concept to the place of residence of 1000 satellites to be practicable and good. Working close to home with the help of flexible office space, so-called satellites, could also be a lucrative option for the administrative sector of cities and municipalities. The satellite in Heidelberg in particular, which is located opposite the main train station, promotes even more environmentally friendly commuting by public transport.
Small, but "OHO"
For the first time, 1000 Satellites organized such a small-scale networking event in a breakfast circle. Our conclusion: A very successful event that gave us valuable impulses and, above all, was fun. We look forward to the next meeting and the growing openness on the subject of the “new world of work”.
